2018 FIRST Robotics Competition Scrimmage

February 17, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Cougars Gone Wired, FIRST Team 2996, is honored to be hosting the FIRST POWER UP scrimmage. This event will provide teams with the opportunity to play FIRST POWER UP on a full-sized field with other teams.

The scrimmage will be on Saturday February 17, from 9 AM – 5 PM.  We will be in the main gym on the Coronado High School Campus.  Directions to Coronado High School

We will have power available, as well as a pit for each team. The pit areas marked off will be the same size as at competition but if other space is available feel free to utilize it.  The pits will not have tables but please feel free to bring your own. Our workshop will also be available to teams if needed.

As for the field, FIRST Team 2996 will be providing all of the main field elements however, we do ask that teams bring their POWER CUBES. We will be constructing the field on Friday night, so the field will be built and ready for competition before the doors even open on Saturday.

Our parent group will have concessions during the scrimmage. They will be selling nachos, hotdogs, pulled pork sandwiches, candy, drinks and snacks.

Here’s the tentative schedule for the day:

9:00 AM= Doors open

9:00 AM= Field open

12:00 PM= Lunch break

1:00 PM= Field open a

5:00 PM= Clean up starts

I know that often teams want time in the morning just to get on the field and do some calibrations of their systems.  The field will be open for whatever people need to do.  If we get some teams that want to run some matches we will, until then it will be open to calibration and practice.

 From our programming team:

For the Colorado Pre-Ship Scrimmage, the mock FMS will not send out values for Alliance Plates on the Switches or Scale. Instead, after the robots have been placed on the field and communications have been established with the FMS system, a three-letter code will be manually posted, and teams will input it by hand into the Game Data section of the settings tab of their Driver Station. The information on how to complete this is on FIRST Inspires or in the link below. This process will run code the same way as if the FMS sent it out, and is a suitable testing method. Please note the team updates where the four possible configurations were set, the Colorado Pre-Ship Scrimmage will only use these configurations. That link is also included below.

An RSVP would be appreciated, but it is not required. There will be plenty of room for last minute decisions! We hope to see every Colorado FIRST team here!

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Mr. McLean (719) 328-3759 or mcleabb@d11.org. We hope your build season is going well!
